MOUNT FOREST – It was shortly after 3am on a recent Sunday when a Mount Forest family awoke to find a shed and car on fire at their Cork Street home.

KENILWORTH – Wellington North Fire Service data shows volunteer firefighters responded to more calls last year than in 2021. The rise in call volume wasn't because of more fires, but more medical-related calls, according to the data.

FERGUS – The playground equipment at Victoria Park here was to be removed on Thursday. The decision was made by Centre Wellington staff after the playground had to be "closed suddenly" last month "due to structural damage to the slide," states a June 13 press release from the township.
