MARDEN – Opening the time capsule outside the Marden library on the weekend invoked a little time travel itself.

MINTO – Town council has approved an agreement to sell a 3.83-acre lot in the Palmerston Industrial Park to a local developer with plans to develop a business condominium complex.

FERGUS – A plaque honouring Richard Pierpoint will be erected at the Pierpoint Fly Fishing Nature Reserve in early October. Pierpoint is recognized as the first Black settler in Centre Wellington.

MINTO – A plan to more than double the density of a proposed subdivision in Palmerston was presented at a public meeting here on Sept. 5.

FERGUS – Police continue to investigate a bomb threat targeting Centre Wellington District High School that turned out to be a hoax.

PUSLINCH – Police are asking for the public's help with an investigation after finding a dead body here on Friday. In a Sept. 10 press release Wellington County OPP officials stated "a deceased individual was located in a blue sedan along Wellington Road 34" on Sept. 8.

WELLINGTON COUNTY — World Suicide Prevention Day is Sept. 10, which also marks the beginning of Suicide Prevention Week.
