MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Rams U11 Rep team brought its best to the OMHA Championships in Halton Hills over the Easter weekend (March 29-31), which saw eight teams in the U11 division competing for the coveted red hats.

ELORA – A Rona employee is dead after being hit by a vehicle while at work on Saturday. Emergency crews were called to the business, located on Wellington Road 18 across from the Elora Quarry, at about 3:15pm.

MOUNT FOREST – For the 10th time since last summer, the emergency department at Louise Marshall Hospital is closing for a portion of the weekend. Due to a staffing shortage, the department will close on April 6 (Saturday) at 7pm and reopen on April 7 (Sunday) at 7am.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Grand River Conservation Authority will be installing warning booms or buoys upstream of dams to alert paddlers, anglers and boaters to stay away.

ERIN - The town is moving forward on heritage designations for another seven properties in Hillsburgh. Last year, the town designated 12 Hillsburgh properties, most situated along Trafalgar Road.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Two Brampton residents and one Windsor resident have been charged after a vehicle "fled from a theft" at a gas station here earlier this week.

ELORA – The Elora Lions Club is presenting its second winemakers dinner on April 20 at the GrandWay Events Centre and organizer Josef Van den Borre is confident this year’s event will net the charity more than the $3,000 it raised last year to benefit Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
