Expected to be considered on?Sept. 14, the township’s new comprehensive zoning bylaw was again a hot topic of discussion for council last week.
It appeared the two main sticking points remaining were the size and/or weight of a vehicle allowed to be parked at a residential dwelling and size restrictions for hobby barns and accessory structures on agricultural and residential lands.
Council agreed to raise the maximum weight for a vehicle from 6,000 pounds to 15,000 pounds, which would effectively eliminate cube vans and buses, but allow for most smaller vehicles like pick-up trucks.
Councillors also wanted to raise the maximum hobby barn size to 1,000 square feet for lands up to 5 acres in size.
The bylaw will be discussed again at future council meetings.
