It looks like there will be a new well drilled for the Drew Hall property – as recommended by the Ministry of the Environment.
Councillor Wayne Martin said the motion is to upgrade the water service for the property.
Public Works Director Norm Fisk said there are recognized issues with the current well. At a depth of 35 feet, he said, “It’s not deep enough.”
He added that after hard summer rains, the well can be contaminated by the swamp behind the ball diamonds on the property.
The well is also located on the outer edge of the ball diamond.
Fisk said the MOE recommended a new well, and the intent is to stick with a local well driller.
