“I love the close-knit community feel here.”

Basu earned her graduate degree in medicine in India and completed obstetrics and gynecology training in the United Kingdom.

She brings to Groves valuable experience in the field, including high-risk pregnancies, operative deliveries including caesarean sections, gynecological surgeries like laparoscopic hysterectomies and more, the release said.

“There is such a diversity in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology between the combination of surgery and medicine,” Basu stated.

She is passionate about improving women’s health in the community, the release stated.

Basu has moved to Fergus along with her husband and two children.
