New lavender festival set for June 22

MOUNT FOREST – County residents have a new event to add to their summer calendars.

The new Lavender Bloom Festival is being held June 22 at Tullamore Lavender Co., near Arthur (7595 Wellington Road 109), from 11am to 5pm.

“It’s truly going to be such a special day,” MKT Events owner and festival cohost Carly Klassen states in a press release.

“We’re taking advantage of the beautiful setting of the lavender farm to celebrate the start of summer with a day full of activities,” she stated.

“I’m especially excited about the line-up of amazing local makers who will be joining us.”

Festival attendees can access a 50-vendor market, a yoga class by Moonlight Yoga, workshops by Snowdrop Creative and the Sage Soap Company, photo sessions by Casi Gray Photography, face painting by Cleo the Clown, and five musical performances, headlined by Tragedy Ann, a forward-looking folk duo from Guelph.

Tullamore Lavender Co. owner Stephanie Craig states in the release that she wanted to kick off the first year being open in a special way.

“I think this event is a real reflection of how we view the farm business,” she said.

“It’s about lavender, but it’s also about building community and offering thoughtful and authentic experiences. I think the festival will do just that.”

The organizers recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time and carpooling.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the gate. Children enter free. Visit eventbrite.ca/e/lavender-bloom-festival-tickets-895230678057.
