FERGUS – Jade Ritter says it has been an “incredible experience” serving as Fergus Fall Fair Ambassador for 2018-19.
She will pass on the crown after this year’s Ambassador competition, to be held on Sept. 8.
Contestants, who must be single and between the ages of 17 and 25, registered in August.
Each must give a two to three minute prepared speech.
They will answer an impromptu question and prepare a poster display board about themselves.
That will be followed by a short interview with the judges.
The winner gets a scholarship and represent the Fergus Agricultural Society at events in Centre Wellington during the coming year, and at the Canadian National Exhibition in 2020.
Ritter said, “My role as the Fergus Fall Fair Ambassador has given me the opportunity to share my love of agriculture with others.
“Along the way I have met many members of our community, and formed lifelong friendships with other ambassadors.
“It’s truly amazing how the fair brings our community together to celebrate the rural way of life.”
