WELLINGTON COUNTY – More opportunities are now available for local residents seeking COVID-19 testing.
Saturday-only COVID-19 assessment centres are opening in Mount Forest and Palmerston starting Dec. 12, the Wellington Healthcare Alliance announced on Dec. 8.
The new appointment-only assessment centres are located at the Minto Rural Health Centre, at 500 White’s Road in Palmerston, and the Claire Stewart Medical Clinic, at 525 Dublin Street in Mount Forest.
Both will be open from 10am to 4pm (closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30pm).
Weekday COVID-19 assessment centres continue to operate at locations in Harriston and Fergus.
The Harriston centre, at 83 Arthur Street (the former train station), is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 5pm.
The Fergus centre, at 235 Union Street East (the former Groves hospital building), is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm.
Both centres have expanded their hours since opening, with the Harriston centre adding Friday hours, and the Fergus location adding Tuesday and Thursday appointment times.
Appointments can be booked at all rural Wellington COVID-19 assessment centres at www.whcacovid.com or by calling 226-383-2415.
There is no charge for COVID-19 testing, regardless of whether or not an individual has OHIP coverage.
