ERIN – The updated schedule for the Erin Roots series at the Busholme Inn includes a new concert by the former lead singer of the band Prairie Oyster.
Russell deCarle, who also played bass for the Juno award winning country roots group, is on tour presenting his new CD, Alone in this Crowd.
His Feb. 29 concert in Erin will feature a blend of southern soul, balladry, blues, old school country and western swing.
Other upcoming concerts include Twas Now, with husband and wife duo Mike and Diana Erb from New Hamburg playing on Jan. 25 (revised date).
They’ve been performing their blend of original and traditional country-roots music since 2010.
On Feb. 8, Erin Roots welcomes James Gordon of Guelph, who has released more than 40 albums and toured around the world.
Well known for his songs about social justice, heritage and environmental issues, he was a member of the ground-breaking trio Tamarack, performed as a solo singer-songwriter and has composed music for orchestra, theatre and movies.
Spring concerts on the Erin Roots schedule feature Americana singer Taivi (March 21), bluesman Al Lerman (April 18) and country band Settlers Creek (May 9).
The Erin Roots concert series was established in 2015. Previously-recorded concerts are broadcast every Sunday evening at 8pm on Erin Radio, 91.7 FM.
