The new Canadian Tire building expected for Mount Forest has been delayed at the request of the developer.
At its June 26 meeting, Wellington North council approved an extension for the site plan agreement made in August 2016.
A June 14 letter from Michelle Doornbosch of Zelinka Priomo Ltd. indicates the construction schedule had changed and the company is unable to start construction at the new Mount Forest location.
Doornbosch sought a one-year extension.
“It’s good to see this not disappear completely,” said councillor Dan Yake.
Construction is now expected to start before August 2018.
Council approved the extension unanimously.
