It's open - A small crowd gathered in downtown Elora around 4pm on Dec. 18 to watch a work crew remove barriers from the Badley Bridge, clear away the snow and rubble, and open the bridge to traffic. It took no time for drivers, and a few cyclists, to realize they didn't need to take the detour. "It will be so much easier to get wine," one woman joked, as the LCBO store is directly across the bridge. The bridge replacement is a Wellington County project. There's still some work to be done on one side of the bridge, but it won't impair vehicular traffic. A formal opening ceremony in expected sometime in the new year. Photos by Joanne Shuttleworth
