New attempt at world record caber toss

Ever wanted to train to toss a caber? Now is the time.

In August 2014, 61 athletes at Fergus Scottish festival in August 2014 successfully turned 52 cabers simultaneously securing a Guinness World Records.

Later that year in Inverness, Scotland…. that record was broken.

On Aug. 8 prior to opening ceremonies of the 75th Fergus Highland Games the community will attempt to retake the World record.

Those interested in participating in this challenge are invited to email John Jans at http://www.fergusscottishfestival.com/registrations/caber-toss-registration.

Organizers are having another training day in July where potential participants will be taught how to pick, control and turn a caber properly and safely.

Guinness has set the minimum standard for a world record caber at 14’9” and 55 pounds.

After signing a photo disclaimer and waiver, participants will receive entry to the games on the Saturday of the attempt and a world record attempt T-shirt which must be worn during the attempt.
