Across Canada, Nestlé Waters celebrated Earth Day contributing to the local environment.
In Chilliwack and Hope, British Columbia and locally in Puslinch Township, Nestlé and its employees celebrated Earth Day this year through participation in Adopt-A-Road program clean-up activities in those communities where it has operations.
In Puslinch the cleanup was along Wellington Road 34 between Victoria Road and the Wellington-Halton county line as well as Wellington Road 34 between Brock Road South and Highway 6.
The Adopt-A-Road program is a public service initiative for volunteers to enhance the local litter collection activities of the community where they live by picking up litter along road right-of-ways. It is a way for industries like Nestlé Waters Canada to “contribute to cleaner and more beautiful road systems in their community,” company officials state.
Under the program, the company has agreed to adopt a section of road allowance and keep it clean. The company is recognized by a sign erected by the local government acknowledging its efforts.
