ELORA – A group from the Neighbourwoods environmental stewardship organization gathered for some exercise while learning about local trees during a walk on June 8 led by local historian Al Koop and botanist Rob Guthrie.
The group met at the Elora Curling Club and spent about an hour and a half walking along the Elora Gorge Trail, where they learned that what is called a maple leaf may not really be a maple leaf.
Along the trail through town Koop spoke about the historical relevance of the gorge, its trees and the buildings around town.
