NeighbourWoods on the Grand would like to invite people to its second Tree Talk of the season, The State of Centre Wellington’s Urban Forest; A NeighbourWoods Inventory Update.
It will be presented by University of Toronto urban forestry professor Andy Kenney. He is a luminary in the urban tree world, and this is a unique opportunity to learn about trees in the area.
Dr. Kenney will speak about the health, age, species composition, and other aspects of Centre Wellington’s urban forest, based upon the analyzed data of over 4,000 trees. The data was generated from research conducted by volunteers and NeighbourWoods staff, who recorded 31 characteristics of each tree during our 2009-10 Centre Wellington tree inventory project.
The talk will taking place on Nov. 23 at 7pm, in the Minarovich Gallery at the Elora Centre for the Arts, 75 Melville Street, Elora. Refreshments will be served. The cost is $5, or it is free with a NeighbourWoods membership, which will be available at the door for non-members.
