The high cost of hydro at the former Mount Forest arena appears to be an issue of billing.
At a previous meeting councillors questioned a December hydro bill of $6,961 for the old Mount Forest arena, because nothing is happening in the building.
Mayor Mike Broomhead asked if more information is available.
Councillor Bob Mason explained the arena is locked, so hydro officials made an estimate of usage, but now that the hydro meter has been read, the costs is $5,000 lower.
“I’ve been in the building a couple times, and there wasn’t much running then,” Broomhead said.
“There’s not much left in the building to run to be honest,”
Councillor Ross Chaulk said that is why the large bill “stood out like a sore thumb.”
