Death on the Nile brought some life to the Fergus Grand Theatre here on the last weekend in March.
Totals are now in and the Agatha Christie play was a smashing success. The fourth in a series by Vision Productions, the play was run for the benefit of the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
Food donations were collected on the opening Night, March 26, as well as cash donations and the profit from the play.
The Friday show was a near sell-out, and Saturday produced a full house.
The gross weight of the food collected was about 300 pounds. On opening night, the show’s producer, Fred Morris, was able to present the food bank with a cheque for $3,500. By Saturday, that could be topped up to nearly $3,800.
Morris said recently the next Christie play will be And Then There Were None, a title change from the original name, which is politically incorrect.
