Local MPP Randy Pettapiece is asking Ontario health minister Eric Hoskins to consider the unique challenges of rural areas as the province restructures health care delivery.
“We accept that change will be necessary, but it is absolutely essential that our hospitals – especially our hospitals in small communities – have the support they need,” stated Pettapiece in a Feb. 10 letter to Hoskins.
The letter continues, “As you move further to restructure healthcare delivery, I would strongly urge you to consult directly with hospitals including those in Perth-Wellington. As I have said many times, we in rural and small-town Ontario have unique circumstances with respect to healthcare delivery.
