MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Rams U11 Rep team brought its best to the OMHA Championships in Halton Hills over the Easter weekend (March 29-31), which saw eight teams in the U11 division competing for the coveted red hats. The Rams showed well in round robin play, winning 10-1 against the Newcastle Stars on March 29, 6-0 against the Napanee Stars and tying 3-3 with the Wasaga Beach Stars on March 30. These results placed the Rams in first position in their pool and advanced them to the semi-finals on the morning of March 31, where they defeated the Six Nations Blackhawks 8-4. The championship game was played later the same day, against a fellow WOAA team, the Mid-Huron Huskies. “In their home white jerseys, the Rams played with energy, passion and confidence, which was encouraged by roaring support from their fans in the crowd,” team officials stated. “The game ended in a victorious 5-2 win for the Rams, with the champions capping off their stellar season in RedHats.” From left: front, Beckett Van Huss, Corbin Holliday, Clark Ferguson, Jack McDonald, Colby Cummings and Colby Love; back, trainer Shawn Fairbrother, Brennan Fairbrother, assistant coach Scott Holliday, Hunter Sinnamon, Deacon Morton, Easton Miles, Noah McDonald, Tyler Scott, Cooper Lantz, Griffin Gagnon, assistant coaches Jason Cummings and Shawn Sinnamon and head coach Tristan Miles.
