Motor-free parade in Holstein draws crowd

Crowd pleaser – The tiny community of Holstein was bursting at the seams on Dec. 10 as hoards of spectators lined its main streets to watch the annual non-motorized Christmas Parade. Cars were not only parked in every spot along the route, but also along adjoining roads as far as the eye could see. The parade was about 20 minutes long and consisted mainly of horses and ponies of various breeds that were driven, ridden and led. A few brightly costumed dogs and people were sprinkled into the festive mix.
