WELLINGTON COUNTY – Popular local musical act MooreBand is set to launch its second annual concert series, with nine shows planned at six venues in five Wellington County communities.
The family band features Drayton residents Derek and Maggie Moore and their children Taylor, Drew and Bria.
Concerts in the series will showcase the band members’ diverse talents, with a different musical focus for each show.
The opening concert in the series on Sept. 29 at the Fergus Grand Theatre is dubbed “The ‘70s Show.” Doors open at 7pm for the 8pm show.
The next two shows in the series will also pack a decade’s worth of popular tunes into an evening on stage. The band brings The ‘80s Show to the Harriston Town Hall Theatre on Oct. 25 and they will perform music at The ‘90s Show at the Arthur Legion on Nov. 16.
A Very Merry Christmas is the theme of a performance scheduled for Dec. 21 at the Drayton Reformed Church. All proceeds from this show go to the Drayton Foodbank and Don’t Forget to Breathe Foundation charities.
The series continues into 2024 with:
– Best of Movies and TV at the Palmerston Legion on Jan. 12;
– Music of Elton John and Billy Joel at the Harriston Town Hall Theatre on Feb. 14;
– Dance Party at the Harriston Legion on March 22;
– The Birth of Rock ‘N Roll at the Harriston Town Hall Theatre on April 19; and
– Legends of Country Music at the Fergus Grand Theatre on May 30.
As with their previous concert series, the Moores will be joined by musical guest artists at each show. Musical guests for the Fergus show are the Shaw family: Adam, Kara, Dave, Lynda and Ollie.
“We are super stoked over some of these themes, and we all had a hand in their selection … There’s something here for everyone so we hope to see you at some point on the circuit,” states a message from the band to their fans.
