With 2018 around the corner, the Town of Minto and Minto Fire are gearing up to kick-off the celebrations with their second annual family friendly Fire and Ice New Year’s Eve event.
A full slate of events will be taking place on Dec. 31 from 5 to 8pm at the Palmerston Community Centre.
Highlights include: fire pits custom-made by Weathered Minto with s’more and hot chocolate stations, fire show and glow hoop performances, free skating sponsored by the Palmerston Firefighters Association, music, dog sled demonstrations and a photo booth with Kit Kat Photography.
Children and youth activities include: a glow stick station, ice sculpture building, snow painting, face painting by the Harriston Preschool as well as schlockey boards.
Food will be available for purchase in the auditorium from the Palmerston Traditional Scouting, Southside Fries Food Truck, and the concession booth.
The Palmerston Curling Club lounge will also be open for the duration of the event for those of age of majority.
The main highlight of the event will be a spectacular fireworks display at 8pm.
“We are really excited to offer local, affordable family fun for families in Minto and surrounding areas again this year,” said Minto economic development manger Belinda Wick-Graham, who thanked several sponsors for their support.
