MINTO – After three years of COVID-19 disruptions the Minto Arts Council has announced its sixth Minto Juried Art Show.
Winners will be announced on reception night at the Minto Arts Gallery. The deadline for entries is April 3.
“Apart from the money prizes, participation is the biggest award of joining the Minto Juried Art Show, that is gaining more national recognition each year,” arts council officials state.
An awards reception will be held May 4, from 6:30 to 8pm. People should arrive early to cast votes for the Viewer’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced at 7pm at the Minto Arts Gallery, 88 Mill St., Harriston, located upstairs in the Harriston Public Library.
Prizes sponsored by the Minto Arts Council include: $200 for first place, $150 for second, $100 for third and $50 for the Viewers’ Choice Award.
Privately sponsored awards include:
– Von Westerholt Prize for best Watercolour, $200; and
– West Meadow Press and printmaking prize, $100 for an entry of 10 or more in etching, engraving, mezzo-tint, relief print, woodcut, wood engraving, or silkscreen. Digital or analog photography prints are accepted too.
