Over the last several months a local Farmers’ Market Association has been busy planning for the grand opening of the Minto Farmers’ Market.
The market is located in downtown Clifford and will be open Fridays from 3 to 7pm , and running June 5 to Oct. 9.
The market features locally grown or produced products including fresh fruits and vegetables (organic and non-organic), home baking, plants, maple syrup and more.
The grand opening and official ribbon cutting is at 2:45pm on June 5 with a wide variety of events to follow including, food demonstrations and a display by the Wellington -Dufferin-Guelph Public Health’s Community Food Advisors. Face painting for the children will run from 4 to 6pm by the Minto Adventure Camp, and the judging of the Minto Farmers’ Market Colouring Contest will take place at 5pm.
Music will be ongoing throughout the afternoon and will include Juanita Wilkins, the Dubious Brothers, and several other local artists.
Sausages and hot dogs will also be available as part of the fundraising efforts of the Clifford downtown revitalization committee.
