HARRISTON – The Town of Minto’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee is hosting a Black Heritage Month Celebration on Feb. 17.
The event includes a presentation by The Kween Company, an interactive dance activity and Jamaican-style food by local chef “Bigg Dogg.”
The Kween Company is a Black-and female-owned company designed as a safe space for the BIPOC community and used as a platform to “support small business, create opportunities and elevate voices,” organizers state.
The event runs from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Community Room in the Harriston branch of the Wellington County Library.
The cost is $5 per person and registration through Eventbrite is required by Feb. 9, officials say.
