Despite the blustery weather, the Minto Chamber of Commerce held a successful Christmas social on Dec. 1 at the Harriston Legion.
Approximately 40 people attended and enjoyed food provided by T&M Catering, Evergreen Variety, and the Harriston Bakery. Local singer, songwriter Juanita Wilkins, and Brenda Manderson provided musical entertainment.
The highlight of the evening was the Christmas promotion shopping spree early bird draw. This year’s Christmas promotion encouraged people to shop in Minto; those who did received a ballot from participating stores to enter the contest.
Over 34 gift certificates donated by Minto Chamber members were given away. Winners were from as near to the community and as far away as Walkerton, Ayton and Holland Centre. The winners are posted on the website at www.mintochamber.on.ca.
The grand prize of a $300 Minto shopping spree will be made on Dec.15 at 1:30pm at Out to Lunch, in Palmerston.
Thousands of entries have been received to date and there is still time to enter before the final draw. The winner will be chauffeured around Minto for the day courtesy of Harriston Motors.
The Minto Chamber of Commerce encourages residents to “keep our town in business by keeping your business in town.” The event is in its second year.
