The Minto Arts Council is set to hold its 18th annual Christmas show and silent auction.
Many local businesses and individuals contribute to the success of the silent auction, which is a major fundraiser for the arts council and enables it to sponsor various cultural activities and run the art gallery at the Harriston library.
“By coming out and supporting this event, you are supporting culture in our community which makes the Town of Minto a great place to live,” arts council officials state.
Minto boasts many artists, artisans and musicians, and as a result, the arts council sponsors the Basement Café concert series and the Norgan cinema Toronto film festival series every third Monday from September to May, as well as providing opportunity for local artists to display work at the art gallery.
Auction items may be seen and bids may be placed from Nov. 15 to Dec. 6 at the gallery on the top floor of the Harriston Public Library, located at 88 Mill Street.
Extended hours for the show are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 to 8pm, Wednesdays 2 to 8pm, Fridays 1 to 6pm, and Saturdays 11 to 3pm. The auction closes Dec. 6 at 1pm.
