Mayor Allan Alls has responded to comments by councillor Matt Sammut in an story in last week’s Advertiser.
In a June 30 press release, Alls said, “It is not our practice to comment on any employee absence and this should have been respected for our CAO.”
Kathryn Ironmonger, CAO for Erin, has been on medical leave since the end of May.
“The comments made do not reflect those of the Town of Erin and at all times we place the privacy and respect of our employees at utmost important,” said Alls in the release.
The town has hired Derek McCaughan until Ironmonger’s return.
