The Centre Wellington Chapter of the Council of Canadians is pleased to present “Our Water. Our Future”, an evening with Maude Barlow, national chair of the Council of Canadians. www.canadians.org

Joining Barlow at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex on Oct. 28 at 7pm will be Mike Nagy of Wellington Water Watchers and a representative from a local water conservation group, Save Our Water.

This is a free, non-ticketed event.

This will be a family-friendly event, with a “pass the hat” spirit to cover the cost of the hall.

Maude Barlow is the recipient of twelve honorary doctorates as well as many awards.

She is also the author of dozens of reports, as well as 17 books, including her latest, Blue Future: Protecting Water For People And The Planet Forever.

The Council of Canadians has previously raised concerns about Nestle’s water-taking business in Aberfoyle and Hillsburgh.

“Ontario must become a leader in groundwater protection” says Barlow.

“We need a shift in decision making so that water is recognized as a human right and drinking water and community use are prioritized over industry use.”
