MILVERTON – Matthew Rae, former public servant and community and education advocate, won the PC nomination in the riding of Perth-Wellington on March 5.
“I want to thank the many PC members who voted for me and thank Don Van Galen of St. Marys for putting his name forward,” said Rae in a March 7 press release.
“It is great to see such interest in the PC movement in our riding.”
He added, “I look forward to hitting the ground running and continuing to meet with people from across Perth-Wellington.”
Rae grew up north of Harriston on his family’s dairy farm and currently lives in Mitchell. He is a graduate of the University of Guelph and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
He has over a decade of experience in both the public and private sector and serves on various community boards.
He currently works for an education non-profit that runs experiential STEM programming for Grade 10 and 11 students.
“I want to thank both Matthew Rae and Don Van Galen for putting their names forward,” said Perth-Wellington PC Association riding president Allyson Cardiff.
