Mapleton native lauded for work with children

Former Mapleton resident Bernice Taylor has been recognized with a Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.

“You are a source of pride and inspiration for early childhood educators across the country,” Prime Minister Stephen Harper wrote in a letter to Taylor.

The former Mapleton resident now lives in Alberta, where she has developed several important programs at a childcare centre dealing with kids aged 1 to 12.
