Mapleton hosts EmpowerHER Day series with help from firefighters

MAPLETON – The Township of Mapleton’s economic development and recreation departments, with support from local community groups and businesses, have created an “EmpowerHER Day series.”

The idea is to empower young girls in the community by partnering with local female owned and operated businesses.

“We want to inspire them and build their confidence as they grow into young women in our community,” township spokesperson Amy Grose stated.

The March 29 event marked the second EmpowerHER Day event.

Amy Lyn Yoga joined the event for bracelet making and a yoga session, Blooms on Main supported the event by making flower arrangements with the group and the North Wellington Fire Service completed an obstacle course allowing participants to experience wearing firefighter gear and equipment.
