A man who was found injured on the 6th Line here near Side Road 27 on Feb. 5 has died.
OPP Constable Cheri Rockefeller reported that Fred Thompson, 77, of the Town of Erin passed away on Feb. 19.
Thompson was found on the road by a neighbour earlier this month and police learned that Thompson had finished clearing snow at a nearby residence and while heading home, lost control of his farm tractor causing him to fall to the road.
The tractor continued off the roadway into a snowbank with no damage. Police do not believe any other vehicle was involved and there were no witnesses to the incident.
Thompson was transported to a local hospital by Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with serious injuries then airlifted to a Toronto area hospital. Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services attended the scene to assist.
