FERGUS – Police aren’t releasing much information after a man died due to severe injuries sustained at the Fergus Zehrs on Friday evening.
Emergency crews were called at about 6:45pm on May 31 for a “possible vital signs absent” call at the store on Tower Street South in Fergus.
“Initial reports indicated that an unknown male had sustained serious trauma and required medical attention,” stated a press release from the OPP.
Guelph-Wellington EMS transported the man to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Sources say the man’s wounds were self-inflicted, possibly with an item found in the store.
OPP officials are not releasing the man’s name. Though they continue to investigate, police are stating this was an isolated incident.
