GUELPH – A Guelph man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman found at a local motel a few weeks ago.
Just before 11am on Oct. 15, emergency services were called to a motel on Woodlawn Road West near Woolwich Street. Guelph Police officials say a woman in her 50s was found deceased and a post-mortem examination determined the death was the result of a homicide.
“Through investigation it was determined the victim and suspect were known to each other,” police stated in an Oct. 25 press release. At about 8:30pm the previous day, police say the suspect “was located at a business near York Road and Victoria Road South and arrested.”
A 20-year-old Guelph man is charged with second-degree murder. He was to appear in Guelph bail court last week.
