WELLINGTON COUNTY – During fire prevention week and month, Minto Fire and Wellington North Fire Service have daily contests happening such as Trivia Tuesday and a colouring contest through social media.

MOUNT FOREST – Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Wellington (BBBSNW) has put out an urgent call for Big Brothers and In-School Mentors.

MOUNT FOREST – Students and staff at Wellington Heights Secondary School in Mount Forest recognized National Truth and Reconciliation Day or “Orange Shirt Day” on Sept. 29.

METZ – The annual Metz Pumpkinfest took place at St. Paul’s United Church on Sept. 30.

WELLINGTON NORTH – The township is beginning to update its growth management plan, which was first established in 2017.

MOUNT FOREST – Residents don’t have to look far to see the Mount Forest Business Improvement Association’s (BIA) efforts to spruce up the downtown core.

MOUNT FOREST – The emergency department at Louise Marshall Hospital here will be closed again this weekend, marking the third such closure this month due to "a staffing shortage.” 

MOUNT FOREST – On Sept. 16, local MPP Matthew Rae met with the team at New Growth Family Centre Inc. to recognize a $68,700 Resilient Communities Fund grant awarded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
