WELLINGTON NORTH – Township officials here estimate the total cost of 2021 capital projects will be $15.2 million. A report received by Wellington North council on June 28 notes actual expenses as of June 15 total $1.27 million.

WELLINGTON NORTH – Council here has directed staff to enter into a contract with Upanup Studios Inc. in order to upgrade the township’s website.

WELLINGTON COUNTY - New sidewalks, generators and air purification systems are some of the infrastructure upgrades coming this year to communities in Wellington County.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – As the province enters step two of its reopening plan, the three hospitals in Wellington County are easing restrictions on visitors.

ARTHUR – Faye Craig has been named Wellington North’s Senior of the Year, in recognition of her “outstanding contributions to the community after age 65.” Formally recognized by council on June 28, Craig has long been an active member in her community.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Officials announced on June 28 that Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Aboyne and North Wellington Health Care (NWHC), which operates hospitals in Palmerston and Mount Forest, were joining the team, formerly known as the Guelph and Area OHT.

MOUNT FOREST – Adam Wilson, a volunteer firefighter with the Wellington North Fire Service, will be participating in the Lambton College Fire School’s 9/11 Stair Climb to recognize the 20th anniversary of 9/11. He will be climbing 110 flights of stairs in bunker gear.
