WELLINGTON COUNTY – As of March 16, 12 schools in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) region, including one in Wellington County, are reporting active COVID-19 cases.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Qualifying residents in various areas of Wellington County can now receive the COVID-19 vaccine at their doctor's office.

GUELPH – The local health unit may have to temporarily close its COVID-19 vaccination centres in a week’s time due a shortage of vaccines.

TORONTO — The local health unit is not one of three that will be moving to a different level of the province’s COVID-19 framework next week, despite COVID-19 indicator data that qualifies the region for the orange level.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local public health officials continue to stress the benefits and safety of COVID-19 vaccines, noting AstraZeneca vaccines that may be connected to blood clots in European recipients are not the ones being shipped to Canada.

GUELPH – The trial of Michelle Hanson, who is facing charges in relation to the 2018 death of her three-year old son Kaden Young, has been delayed. The Amaranth resident’s trial was scheduled to begin on March 8 in Guelph, but jury trials in Ontario are currently not being held due to the pandemic.

GUELPH – People aged 70 and older can now pre-register for COVID-19 vaccines. But that doesn’t move this new age group to the front of the line just yet.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – As of March 9, 14 schools in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) region, including one in Wellington County, are reporting active COVID-19 cases.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Provincial workplace health and safety inspectors will be returning to Wellington Dufferin Guelph in the coming weeks. An inspection blitz in February found that just 45 per cent of the 572 businesses inspected were in compliance with the Reopening Ontario Act.
