WELLINGTON COUNTY – Four ambassadors from Wellington County are going to the 2022 CNE’s annual Ambassadors of the Fairs competition. 

PALMERSTON – The 2022 Palmerston Fair is set to run Aug. 26 to 28 at the fairgrounds in Palmerston.

NORTH PERTH – A Palmerston man is dead following a two-vehicle collision here on Monday. Perth County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the crash on Line 91, west of Perth Road 140, on Aug. 15 at around 11:45am.

MINTO – A new well and pump for a rural subdivision here will be installed with the assistance of federal and provincial funding.

MELANCTHON – Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health received notification of a positive rabies test in a bat on Aug. 10. There were two human exposures to the animal. Both individuals have begun a treatment protocol.

PALMERSTON – The Town of Minto is recommending approval of a severance proposal that will create the potential for 10 units of new housing here.

MINTO – Memory Tree Productions and the Town of Minto have received the Award of Excellence for Film/Video – Government Relations at the 2022 Communicator Awards. 

MINTO – The municipality is dropping a policy of charging different rates for residents and non-resident for interment in the town’s three municipal cemeteries.

HARRISTON - Over a month after a provincial deadline to install air conditioning in every resident room, Caressant Care's Harriston location remains non-compliant. A spokesperson blamed a scheduling conflict and supply chain challenges for the delay.
