MINTO – The Palmerston Lions Heritage Park has once again been subjected to vandalism in a recent spate of incidents leading up to Christmas and into the new year.

MINTO – Council here has received on update on the Wellington County Community Safety and Well-being Plan. All municipalities were mandated by the Ministry of the Solicitor General to create their own plan by mid-2021.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Administrators are managing to cover shifts at the three hospitals in Wellington County, but they are keeping a watchful eye on case numbers in the community and bracing for more challenges ahead.

MINTO – Recreational facilities in the Town of Minto will be closed temporarily in response to new provincial direction, the town announced on Jan. 4.

MINTO – The Town of Minto will be reopening all town-operated recreational facilities to the public on Jan. 3. The Norgan Theatre in Palmerston will reopen on Jan. 7, while town programs such as public skating, shinny, walking groups and pickleball will resume on Jan. 10.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – All hospitals in Wellington County will be pausing elective surgeries in response to a surge in COVID-19 cases and the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.

MINTO – Domm Construction was awarded the contract for a $2-million expansion and enhancement project at the Palmerston arena and ball field.
