WELLINGTON-HALTON HILLS – The blue wave that swept across Ontario Thursday night, swept across Wellington-Halton Hills as well as Progressive Conservative candidate Joseph Racinsky was elected with a sweeping majority. 

ABERFOYLE – The debate hosted by the Optimist Club of Puslinch on Feb. 20 gave voters the opportunity to ask their own questions.

WELLINGTON-HALTON HILLS – Six of the seven candidates vying for a seat in Wellington-Halton Hills in the upcoming provincial election took part in a virtual debate on Feb. 18 that was hosted by the Wellington Federation of Agriculture. The focus was on farming.

WELLINGTON-HALTON HILLS – It appears, like others running for the party, that the Progressive Conservative candidate for Wellington-Halton Hills will not attend any debates or all-candidate events hosted by local organizations leading up to the Feb. 27 provincial election.

ACTON – A 54-year-old man left the Acton Fall Fair with a brain bleed and a fractured skull, following an interaction with police. The SIU has concluded there is no reasonable grounds to believe any officers involved committed a criminal offence during the interaction.

HALTON – Track cyclist Cole Dempster has been selected as one of the winners of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s annual Canada-wide talent search.  

MISSISSAUGA – The province’s Special Investigations Unit has found no grounds to criminally charge any OPP officers in connection to a man’s injuries after a pursuit that ended in a Centre Wellington ditch in March.

HALTON – Of 2,200 athletes who attended qualifier events to compete for a spot on Team Canada, Cole Dempster is one of the 100 chosen to participate in the national final. 

MILTON – An international panel of geologists said Crawford Lake contains the best evidence on Earth to support the theory that a new geological chapter in the history of the world, the Anthropocene, is upon us.
