ACTON – Michael Chong was pleased to win the Wellington-Halton Hills riding in the Sept. 20 federal election, but he was annoyed the election took place at all.

PUSLINCH – Wellington-Halton Hills candidates were a little feisty at the debate hosted by the Optimist Club of Puslinch and the South Wellington Community Lions Club on Sept. 16, although overall the debate was respectful and orderly.

GUELPH – The United Way of Guelph Wellington Dufferin kicked off its fundraising campaign with a flash mob. The event, on Sept. 15 outside Guelph’s city hall, attracted a small crowd and was also livestreamed.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Speaking at the debate were Conservative incumbent Michael Chong, Liberal Melanie Lang, Green Party Ran Zhu, and People’s Party of Canada Syl Carle. NDP candidate Noor Jahingir wasn’t able to attend and sent her issues and policy advisor Thomas Redman in her place.
