ERIN – The Town of Erin has closed two of its recreation facilities following a possible COVID-19 exposure. On Dec. 22, the town posted on its twitter that Centre 2000 in Erin and the Hillsburgh Community Centre would remain closed until further notice.

ERIN – Council here has approved the 2022 budget at the previously projected 2.9 per cent tax levy increase for Town of Erin residents. This translates to an increase of $53 in taxes for an average residential home assessed at $600,000.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Following a report to Erin council that seems to question the town’s future in Wellington County, affected municipalities say it’s up to Erin to make the first move to begin discussions.

ERIN – Town officials here have announced they will be closing the municipal office near Hillsburgh on Dec. 20. “We want everyone to have a safe and healthy holiday season,” Mayor Allan Alls stated.

ERIN - Wellington County OPP responded to a collision on Trafalgar Road at Sideroad 17, south of Hillsburgh on Dec. 11.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – All students in the province who attend in-person learning at a publicly-funded school will be offered a home testing kit at no charge.

ERIN – In order to balance the 2022 budget, and to fund the capital projects being requested, staff here are proposing a 2.9 per cent ($223,000) tax increase for Town of Erin residents.

ERIN – What started as a solution to help a family temporarily house visiting relatives has evolved into a full-fledged backyard bunkie business. 

ERIN – After no bids were received for the Erin wastewater treatment plant in August, council here is making a second attempt. On Dec. 7, council approved the pre-qualification of five contractors to submit bids for the project.
