ABOYNE – Grade 2 students from Mrs. Lloyd’s class at St. Joseph Catholic School visited the Wellington County Museum and Archives on Nov. 21.

ELORA – Stores were open late recently for the annual Starlight Shopping on Nov. 16, 17, 23 and 24.

FERGUS – Sip ‘n’ shop in downtown Fergus started on Nov. 24 with all the excitement that Christmas shopping can give. It was a cold night but that is Christmas in Fergus.   

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Get your foot off the gas. Speed limits are about to be reduced on several roads in Centre Wellington after council approved a new posted speed limit bylaw on Nov. 27.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Council did not approve two proposals to locate battery storage facilities in the township at its Nov. 27 meeting, but it did express a willingness to entertain the idea.

FERGUS – The Fergus Lions Club is back again with its 25th annual Christmas drive in support of the Centre Wellington Food Bank.

ABOYNE – Chris Ecclestone attended a meeting for the Fergus Elora Rotary club on Nov. 21 at Aboyne Hall with no idea that she was to receive a Paul Harris Fellow award. 

FERGUS – While the COVID-19 pandemic may not have been an easy time for Peter Skoggard, productivity was not a problem. 

FERGUS – It's official: the old Groves hospital here will be demolished and the Union Street property sold, with sale proceeds reinvested in future health care services in the area.
