BELWOOD – Belwood held its Remembrance Day ceremony on Nov. 9.

ELORA – Communities across Wellington County marked Remembrance Day on Nov. 11 and hundreds of people came out to pay their respects.

FERGUS – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fergus hosted its annual bazaar on Nov. 2 to raise money for the church and its services.

FERGUS – The Skydiggers entertained a full house audience at the Fergus Grand Theatre on Nov. 1, part of the Ontario Festival of Small Halls that’s going on at small concert venues across Ontario.

ABERFOYLE – BlueTriton Brands is closing in Ontario and expects to wind down operations by the end of January. That includes the water bottling site in Aberfoyle, which will go up for sale, a company spokesperson confirmed.

FERGUS – Researchers with Western University have confirmed that a weak tornado hit the Fergus area on the night of Nov. 10.

FERGUS – Brendan McLeod did a little musical archeology and discovered songs sung by soldiers in the trenches at Vimy Ridge.

FERGUS – Juno winner singer-songwriter Chantel Kreviazuk filled the Fergus Grand Theatre on Nov. 2 with a stunning evening of songs and stories.

FERGUS – Most people familiar with local history will know that Beatty Brothers Limited was the largest manufacturer in the area and an economic driver in the early days of the Village of Fergus.
