ELORA – Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club held its annual spring open house May 8 to 10, and club president and membership director Ev Robson was very happy with the turnout.

ELORA – Spring has sprung, and on May 11 the grounds of the Elora Centre for the Arts were a magnet for local gardeners. The Elora and Salem Horticultural Society held its annual plant sale, and hundreds of green-thumbed locals attended to snap up their favourite plants.

ELORA – Stirling Marathon delivered a fridge to the Elora Community Pantry behind the Geddes Street Market on May 8, allowing the free pantry to offer perishable goods to those in need.

FERGUS – The UGDSB will conduct boundary reviews and consider public input to determine from which areas students will be assigned to the new Centre Wellington Elementary School and South Guelph Secondary School.

FERGUS – Artists and art enthusiasts flocked to Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) on the evening of May 8 for an art show and board-wide Live Art Battle.  

FERGUS – For a hot second, the town of Fergus was elevated to city status. Eagle-eyed readers told the Advertiser a “City of Fergus” welcome sign was recently erected on Highway 6 at the south entrance to town.

ELORA – Jayne Cremasco’s sister Patti Bird was born on Cremasco’s 10th birthday.
