FERGUS – As part of his presenting series, coordinator of the Fergus Grand Theatre Eric Goudie presented the performance of Ballet Jorgen on April 5.

ELORA – Raymond Soucy recently retired as executive director of the Centre Wellington Community Foundation and on April 7, he stepped away from his role as chair of the Elora Cataract Trail Association after 16 years in that post.

ELORA – A Rona employee is dead after being hit by a vehicle while at work on Saturday. Emergency crews were called to the business, located on Wellington Road 18 across from the Elora Quarry, at about 3:15pm.

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Grand River Conservation Authority will be installing warning booms or buoys upstream of dams to alert paddlers, anglers and boaters to stay away.

ELORA – The Elora Lions Club is presenting its second winemakers dinner on April 20 at the GrandWay Events Centre and organizer Josef Van den Borre is confident this year’s event will net the charity more than the $3,000 it raised last year to benefit Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The DECA business club at Centre Wellington District High School (CWDHS) recently qualified for an international competition in California April 25 to May 2.

CENTRE WELLINGTON - Jason Dekorte had always dreamed of seeing Machu Picchu and climbing a mountain in Peru and seven years ago he did it. A documentary about the trip, Carrying a Dream, will screen next month.

FERGUS – St. Joseph Catholic School principal Todd Goodwin has been selected by the Catholic Principals Council of Ontario (CPCO) as one of the recipients of the 2024 Distinguished Service Award.
