GUELPH – At its Nov. 28 meeting, county council voted in favour of a recommendation to direct staff to cease the development plans for the “Continuum of Care” project, which was to have provided a variety of seniors’ housing options, including affordable and market-based rental and life-lease units.

FERGUS – The Fergus Lions Club is back again this year with its 26th Christmas Gift Card drive in support of the Centre Wellington Foodbank.

FERGUS – Lenore Prickett was all ears when she learned a treatment that could reverse blindness for people with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) had been developed and was soon to be approved by Health Canada.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 6 and 8th Line/Wellington Road 22, south of Ennotville, on Nov. 27 at about 5pm.

FERGUS – The Aypa Power application to build a battery storage facility in south Fergus returned to council during a Nov. 25 public planning meeting, with many delegations expressing opposition to the proposed facility.

ELORA – Sky Hammond is riding high since TVOKids signed him to create a second season of Teeny Tiny Stories. Part two of the animated series launched on TVOKids’ YouTube channel in November and can be found on the channel.

FERGUS – Fergus resident Randy Vaine has been collecting pennies for several months – a campaign he calls Pennies for Poverty.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – With more donated books than they could handle, the Elora Festival decided to host a second used book sale this year on Nov. 24 at the Fergus Legion.
