FERGUS - St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Fergus has modified its HEARTS (Haitians Educated And Ready To Serve) fundraiser to allow the 18th annual 5K event to be held as a virtually this year.

ELORA – In preparation for December’s budget deliberations and decisions, Centre Wellington staff presented its 2021 draft capital budget to councillors at a committee of the whole meeting on Sept. 8.

ELORA – A registered massage therapist who worked in Elora has resigned from the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, promising to never practise massage therapy again, after two separate accusations of sexual assault.

ABOYNE – The Fergus fire station attended an early morning fire at a Hydro One substation near the Wellington County OPP station early Friday morning. The call came in at 3:15am on Sept. 11 and the Fergus station was on scene by 3:25am.

ELORA – Centre Wellington council will get another chance to debate and perhaps decide the fate of the secondary digester roof replacement project at the Fergus wastewater treatment plant after painting itself and staff into a corner in August.

ELORA – Elements Casino Grand River is reopening on Sept. 28. But it will be slot machines only in the beginning, and other table games and amenities like food and beverage services will not be open. As well, admission is limited to 50 guests at a time.
